How do I retrieve my identity theft IP PIN?

If you have the same address that’s on your last year’s return, an IRS letter with your pin should have been mailed to you between December and mid January. If you did not receive a letter, go here to retrieve it. You may also contact the IRS at 800-908-4490 to request a new pin to be mailed to you. This process can take up to 21 days.


How do I access a copy of my return?

You can retrieve a copy of your return from your acceptance email. Search “Tax-Smart” in your email’s search bar to pull up your email.

Access return by using password. Password instructions are included in your email.


How long does it take to process my e-filed return?

Normally, it takes up to 24-48 hours for the IRS to acknowledge your return during tax season and up to 72 hours for you return status to appear on the IRS website. You can check your federal return status at www.irs.gov. Please allow the IRS 21-28 days to process and issue your refund via direct deposit.

Georgia may take up to 6 weeks to issue refunds via direct deposit. You may visit their site at https://dor.georgia.gov/wheres-my-refund.

You will need your total refund amount before any preparation fees are taken out, if applicable and filing status. Retrieve this information from your tax return that was emailed to you.


How to check the status of my amended return?

Lately, mail-in amendments takes up to 6 months to process. E-filed amendments takes up to 10 weeks.

Am I approved for an advance?

After you apply for an advance when filing your return, the bank will contact you via text or email with their final decision. Funds will be available within 48 hours after notification.


How can I activate my Cash Card?

Visit the website on the back of your card and follow the prompts to activate and set pin.


When does tax season begin?

Usually, tax season begins between the January 2nd. If a government shutdown is in place, the IRS could process returns and accept payments, but may delay refunds. There are options available to combat the possible delay, like refund advances. You can begin preparing your taxes now.


What if my dependent worked, can I claim them?

If employment is the only change with your dependent, the answer is yes- if they made less than $4,400 in earned income for the tax year. If the dependent made under $12,950 in earned income, they do not have to file, but may be due a refund.
